A RUMOUR...

Superstar Music Icon Luke Heartlett is getting over the breakup with his last girlfriend, Catwalk Supermodel Tara. It's the latest frenzy in the entertainment media and they make sure the world is plastered with it,

One day, it's clear that he's found his rebound, with a unknown girl caught in a "lover's tiff" argument with him one night, outside a romantic restaurant. The Celebrity Superstar then jets off with said unknown girl to Paris for a romantic week away. He's seen with her in the airport leaving for Paris and coming back, hand in hand both times, leaving the media's personnel excitedly tittering about it.

The Media Journalists then also love talking all about Luke Heatlett's New Girlfriend, Tara's behaviour, and talking about "his newfound happiness" with the Surpermodel at every opportunity, too.

.... IN THE TRUTH

Superstar Music Icon Luke Heartlett is getting over the breakup with his last girlfriend, Tara— Actually, scratch that — he's trying to get over the media scrutiny and obsessive interest in the breakup.

Rachel Adams is twenty-five and working hard at trying to ignore her past, and works almost as hard at a posh French Restaurant in a waitressing job that she hates. She's stuck renting a Studio Apartment that's smaller than some bathrooms, her dreams beyond her, and nothing much going on for her whatsoever. Stuck-in-a-Rut had become more like Tied-To-A-Rut-With-Zip-Lock-Ties.

One night, outside the Restaurant, they both literally run into each other and get into an argument about it, in the middle of the street. It's an argument that changes both their lives, with irrevocable consequences.

A Photo Journalist captures Rachel yelling at Luke for running into her, and Luke vehemently denying it, both irate by the other's denial of culpability, and insistence of laying the blame on the opposite party. The Journalist immediately takes the photo-stills of this, and runs with the story that she's his girlfriend and berating him for something, in a "lover's quarrel" situation. The "breaking news" of Heartthrob Music Icon Luke Heartlett already being "caught" with another woman was an immediate sensation in the Entertainment "news", causing both to be entirely shocked the next morning to find out what article writers had been busy reporting through the night and morning.

The story had been written, re-written, blogged, Tweeted, pasted all over Social Media thousands of times already, immediately making this story "Entertainment Gospel" — thus giving Luke an "out" with the Media regarding Tara. All he needs to do is convince them Rachel is his girlfriend for now, until they need to "break up". Foolproof!

Except, well, Rachel isn't easily impressed, or starstruck — and thinks he's a "Class-A Idiot who's so up himself, he can probably see through his own mouth". But he NEEDS this story to work, so he does everything he can to make it work. Even ignore the fact that she absolutely hates him and can't stand him… and the fact he's more than a little smitten with the first person to refuse to kiss his feet and tell him to stop being a celebrity musician.

These days, Sebastian has just turned 29 years old and currently one of the richest, most successful Hollywood movie stars in the industry and the world. The Ultimate Romantic Lead Guy. The hot hero in, or on, an adventure.

At least, he was in his fictional films. Not so much in real-life.

On his most recent film, he connected well to his co-star Kate Whitaker, and they ended up becoming very close friends. Close enough that he invited her to come along and join him and his twin brother in returning to their home in Willowfall-by-Bough for a small trip back home to his parents house. 

Close enough that she made him call up his (former?) best friend to try and get back in touch and make [a lot of] amends.

Close enough to make him finally admit to what he's been running and hiding from for fifteen years... That he's in love with his best friend – and there's nothing he can do about it.

Maybe close enough that she can also finally make him do something about it...?

Star Attraction

Lisa Ryan, a 28year-old former IT Data Analyst and current English Lit Degree Student, is readying herself for graduating university... again. 

She is longingly looking forward to returning to her adopted city of London, after three years away, especially because living in her childhood home with her parents and teenage younger sister had been ... Trying. 

OK... It was actually a partial nightmare.

Having an English Lit degree had always been a childhood fantasy and a Bucket List type of ambition, so she'd saved up her money as an IT Consultant (and it paid her well) to pay for the course, gave up her London life when she was 26, and went home to her local university again. Now. she was months away from Graduating with a First, and finally able to go "home" [to London] again.

Plus, she's also really looking forward to making money, rather than just spending it for the first time in three years.

Sebastian De Carr was Lisa's Childhood Best Friend... They were friends from just 11 years old, after they met in the School Library. They were inseparable from then on, and became each other's "other half". Both were secretly smitten with the other even back then. 

Unfortunately they became estranged and grew up apart when Sebastian, and his twin Caspian, move to the US - specifically to LA - to pursue a career in film acting at the age of 16, just before sitting their GCSEs. Sebastian left Lisa, promising to write to her... and by the time a year had gone by with not even a postcard, Lisa vowed to put Sebastian De Carr out of her mind as a friend, forever. 

Just... "Someone She Used To Know". It was better, hurt less, that way.

It didn't stop her being in love with him... But at least it stopped the pain... A little.

SUMMERY:

Lisa Ryan has been in love with her best friend since they met in the first year of high school. However, at sixteen, just before they sat their GCSEs, he left suddenly with his twin brother for California, having been offered life-changing acting roles or both of them, as well as training and schooling. Lisa wad left bereft of her best friend and had only Sally, her other best friend, to count on after that.

Sebastian and Caspian De Carr went on to dominate Hollywood and the Box Office over the next eleven years. Sebastian was the ultimate "leading man heart-throb", whilst Caspian was an incredible character actor, enjoying working with Indie filmmakers as well as the big studios. Both were super-rich superstars – and all Lisa could so was watch them in movies, on the TV, or online, looking at pictures of her friends growing up and getting brain-meltingly famous, whilst she struggled through her own life. She headed for London, and built a successful career in IT, and enjoyed herself making money from one of her favourite hobbies – working with computers 

After six years of working and living in London, as a Computer Analyst, Lisa decides to head home to live with her parents, to attend their local university and fulfil her dream of having an English degree. Months before graduating, though, she gets a strange phone call on the landline – and on answering, she gets a huge shock... Sebastian is home – with his brother – and he actually asked to see her.
Overwhelmed and nervous, she agrees, and heads out to met him... and what she ends up finding is that her old friend hasn't even changed – apart from the fact he definitely looks like a Hollywood movie god and grown to be 6ft 3 of hard muscle.

They hang out, she meets his new close friend – Hollywood megastar Kate Whittaker – and they hit it off, too. But... Hanging out with her old best friend, with whom she is still in love with, is not only complicated – but daunting, especially when he's one of Hollywood's most famous and bankable movie stars. She's hardly in any league, let alone his. But – bottom line – he's still her best friend.

She just wished he wouldn't make it quite so difficult to keep her feelings to herself.
